More Than a Fight
For Morgan Gee, stepping into the ring is about much more than boxing.
It is about taking on a challenge, stepping outside his comfort zone and raising awareness for men’s mental health.
Through his fundraising efforts, Morgan is helping support the message behind Spoke to a Bloke: getting blokes talking, walking and supporting each other.
Too many men carry pressure quietly, feeling like they have to keep pushing through on their own. This fundraiser is about helping to change that.
That is why Turtle Traffic chose to support Morgan’s fundraiser with a donation. This is not about sponsoring a fight. It is about supporting a cause that means something to Morgan, Turtle Traffic and many families across WA.
What Spoke to a Bloke Stands For
Spoke to a Bloke exists to get more men talking openly.
The initiative encourages blokes to open up, have real conversations and support each other without judgement. It gives men permission to say, ‘I’m not alright,’ and know they will be met with understanding, not silence or shame.
For many men, that first conversation can be the hardest part. Spoke to a Bloke is helping make those conversations feel normal, accepted and easier to start.
It is a reminder that strength is not about carrying everything alone. Sometimes, strength is speaking up.
Walk for a Bloke: Taking Steps That Matter
Walk for a Bloke is more than a 25km challenge for men’s mental health.
It is a day for men to walk side by side, reconnect with old mates, meet new people and be part of a movement focused on connection, conversation and support. Every step helps keep men’s mental health in the conversation. It reminds blokes they do not have to face things alone.
Whether someone walks solo, joins a team or gets their workplace involved, the purpose stays the same: connection, conversation and support.
For Morgan, this cause is about more than fundraising. It is a chance to help build awareness and remind men that they do not have to face things alone.
Morgan’s Challenge
Morgan’s fundraising is connected to the Perth Corporate Rumble, where participants train for eight weeks before stepping into the ring.
For Morgan, that meant preparing to step into the ring in front of more than 1,100 people. That takes discipline, commitment and a fair bit of courage.
The challenge is not only physical. It is also about putting himself forward for a cause bigger than the event itself.
By putting himself forward, Morgan is using the platform to raise funds, build awareness and support the work Spoke to a Bloke is doing for men’s mental health.
Turtle Traffic’s Support
Turtle Traffic donated $2,500 to Morgan’s fundraiser because men’s mental health is a cause that affects mates, families and communities across WA. For many in the Turtle Traffic team, this is a cause that feels close to home.
This support is not about sponsoring the fight. It is about standing behind Morgan’s effort to raise awareness for men’s mental health and supporting a message that should continue well beyond fight night.
Across WA, Turtle Traffic supports local communities through donations, in-kind support, local hiring, regional suppliers and practical partnerships. Whether it is backing local initiatives or supporting people like Morgan who are using a personal challenge to raise awareness for others, the reason is simple.
Some causes need more people talking about them. Spoke to a Bloke is one of them.
Why This Matters
Too many men carry pressure silently.
They keep showing up. They keep working. They keep looking after the people around them, even when they are not okay themselves.
That is why making honest conversations easier to start is so important.
Being able to say “I’m not alright” should not feel like failure. It should feel like a first step towards support, connection and the right help when it is needed most.
Spoke to a Bloke is helping make those conversations happen without judgement. Not every conversation has to fix everything. Sometimes, simply checking in, listening properly and making someone feel less alone can make a real difference.
Backing the People and Communities Around Us
Turtle Traffic is Western Australian owned and operated, with a Perth Metro head office in Bassendean and a regional depot in Albany.
For Turtle Traffic, being part of WA means more than working on roads, projects and events. It is also about showing up for the people, causes and conversations that matter.
That support can look different depending on the cause, from local initiatives and events to fundraising efforts like Morgan’s.
Morgan’s fundraiser is a reminder that community support can take many forms. Sometimes, it is about helping keep people safe on the road. Other times, it is about backing a cause that helps people feel seen, heard and supported.
A Message Worth Getting Behind
Morgan’s efforts are a strong reminder that speaking up matters. His fundraiser has already passed its original $7,500 goal, raising more than $13,500 for Spoke to a Bloke.
Whether it starts with a 25km walk, an eight-week fight camp, a donation or a quiet check-in with a mate, each action helps keep the conversation going.
Turtle Traffic is grateful to support Morgan’s fundraiser and help share the message behind Spoke to a Bloke. Men’s mental health deserves awareness, understanding and space for blokes to speak openly.
If this story encourages even one person to reach out, speak up or check in on a mate, then it is a message worth getting behind.
