Turtle Traffic Announced as Presenting Partner of Bears in Business

Supporting the Perth Bears, strengthening business connections and helping grow rugby league in Western Australia

Turtle Traffic is proud to announce its partnership with the Perth Bears as the Presenting Partner of Bears in Business, an exclusive network bringing together leading Western Australian businesspeople during the club’s foundation journey.

For Turtle Traffic Managing Director Ken Stratton, the partnership has a strong personal connection. Sport, and rugby league in particular, has played an important role in his life and shaped his appreciation for the way sporting clubs can bring people together.

For Ken, sporting clubs can play an important role beyond competition, creating opportunities for people to connect through a shared identity and passion. The arrival of the Perth Bears brings that opportunity to rugby league in Western Australia.

Supporting the Growth of Rugby League in Western Australia

The establishment of the Perth Bears provides an opportunity to increase the visibility of rugby league and strengthen its presence across Western Australia.

A professional club can help put rugby league in front of more Western Australians, creating greater opportunities for young people and families to discover the sport and connect with local clubs.

For Turtle Traffic, supporting the Bears is therefore about more than the professional team itself. It is also about what greater interest in rugby league could mean for the sport across WA.

By giving Western Australian rugby league supporters a club of their own, the Bears have an opportunity to generate greater interest in the game while helping strengthen participation at a grassroots level.

“I have always had a strong personal connection to sport and rugby league, and I understand the positive impact a sporting club can have on individuals, families and the wider community.

Sport gives people a reason to come together. It creates friendships, provides opportunities for young people and builds a sense of pride and belonging that extends well beyond the playing field.

The Perth Bears have an opportunity to create something genuinely special for Western Australia. This is not only about establishing a successful NRL team; it is about growing interest in rugby league, supporting grassroots participation and giving the community a club it can identify with and be proud of.

Turtle Traffic is extremely excited to support that journey. Becoming the Presenting Partner of Bears in Business allows us to combine our passion for sport with our commitment to building strong relationships and supporting the communities in which we operate.”

Bringing WA Business Leaders Together

Bears in Business will bring together 30 Western Australian business leaders, creating opportunities to develop meaningful commercial relationships while becoming part of the Perth Bears’ journey from the beginning.

That focus on long-term relationships reflects the way Turtle Traffic has built its own business across Western Australia.

Founded in 2023, Turtle Traffic is Western Australian owned and operated, creating local employment opportunities while supporting projects across metropolitan, regional and remote WA.

Today, the company delivers traffic management and civil solutions throughout Western Australia from its Perth Metro headquarters in Bassendean and regional depot in Albany.

The partnership builds on Turtle Traffic’s wider commitment to Western Australian communities, which includes local hiring, working with regional suppliers and providing donations and in-kind support to community initiatives.

The network will give participating businesses the chance to connect with each other while also playing a role in supporting the Perth Bears as the club establishes itself in the WA sporting landscape.

Why Sport Matters to Strong Communities

From junior competitions through to professional teams, sporting clubs bring together players, families, coaches, volunteers, supporters and local businesses around a shared interest.

Professional teams can also inspire the next generation.

For a young person watching the Perth Bears, that first connection with the club could encourage them to join a local team, volunteer, coach or become more involved with rugby league in their community.

Turtle Traffic already supports Western Australian communities through sponsorships, donations and in-kind support, and the Perth Bears partnership extends that involvement into rugby league.

Building Something From the Ground Up

Turtle Traffic was founded in 2023, giving the company first-hand experience of building a Western Australian organisation from its earliest stages.

Led by industry leaders with decades of experience, Turtle Traffic now supports projects across Western Australia from its Bassendean headquarters and Albany regional depot.

Along the way, Turtle Traffic has invested in its people, local employment, regional capability and operating systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified systems and MRWA accreditation.

The Perth Bears now face their own task of establishing a club identity, building a supporter base and developing lasting relationships with Western Australian fans, businesses and communities.

As Presenting Partner, Turtle Traffic looks forward to helping Bears in Business become a network where genuine relationships can develop while supporting the broader ambitions of the club.

Proud to Be Part of the Perth Bears’ Journey

The Perth Bears’ foundation journey gives supporters, businesses and community leaders an opportunity to be involved in a new chapter for rugby league in Western Australia.

Turtle Traffic looks forward to seeing the club establish its place within Western Australian rugby league and the wider sporting community.

For Turtle Traffic, the partnership is an opportunity to back the growth of rugby league in WA while strengthening connections between the Perth Bears, Western Australian businesses and the wider community.
