Turtle Traffic is proud to have served as a key sponsor and traffic management partner for the 2025 Albany Classic “Around the Houses,” held on Sunday, 1 June 2025. As one of WA’s most trusted traffic management companies, we were honoured to help bring this iconic Albany motorsport event safely to life.
What Is the Albany Classic “Around the Houses”?
The Albany Classic “Around the Houses” is a reimagining of the historic 1936 Albany Tourist Trophy, organised by the Albany Classic Motorsport Club with support from local and Perth-based motorsport clubs. Each year, the event transforms Albany’s CBD into a roaring showcase of automotive history, drawing thousands of spectators and more than 150 vintage and classic vehicles — from wire-wheel wonders and post-vintage classics through to open-wheel racers and big-cube muscle cars.
Our Role in Albany Traffic Management
Delivering safe and seamless event traffic management for a street-based motorsport event is no small feat. At Turtle Traffic, our Albany traffic management team developed and executed a comprehensive plan covering every detail, including:
- Traffic Management Plans (TMPs): Designing and implementing road closure strategies and detour routes tailored to the Albany CBD layout
- On-Site Traffic Controllers: Deploying qualified traffic controllers Perth-wide and locally in Albany to direct vehicles and protect pedestrians
- Signage and Barricades: Installing compliant signage and physical barriers to guide both drivers and spectators safely throughout the event
- Emergency Response Coordination: Working closely with local authorities and emergency services to ensure rapid access and response capability throughout the day
Our meticulous approach to traffic management planning meant the event ran without a hitch — giving spectators, drivers, and organisers the confidence to focus on what mattered most.
Event Highlights
The 2025 Albany Classic was a spectacular day of speed, nostalgia, and community spirit. Thousands of spectators lined the streets of Albany’s CBD to watch over 150 historic vehicles thunder through the course — a living tribute to WA’s rich motorsport heritage.
From the rumble of big-cube muscle cars to the elegance of vintage wire-wheel classics, the atmosphere was electric. And behind the scenes, the Turtle Traffic team was working hard to ensure every corner, crossing, and closure was managed with precision.
Why Event Traffic Management Matters
Street-based events like the Albany Classic present unique traffic management challenges. Unlike purpose-built venues, public roads require careful coordination between event organisers, local councils, police, and traffic management companies to ensure public safety is never compromised.
That’s where Turtle Traffic comes in. Our event traffic management services are designed to handle the complexity of real-world road environments — so events run smoothly, safely, and in full compliance with WHS and regulatory requirements.
Whether you’re planning a motorsport event, community festival, or large-scale public gathering, our traffic management services are built to deliver.
Supporting Albany’s Community
At Turtle Traffic, we believe in more than just cones and controllers. We’re committed to supporting the communities we work in — and Albany is a community we’re proud to serve. Partnering with the Albany Classic Motorsport Club is a perfect example of how we combine professional traffic management services with genuine community investment.
We look forward to continuing our relationship with the Albany Classic and supporting local events across regional WA for years to come.
